Catch up

We've had so much fun the last couple weeks that I've forgotten to blog, so now it's time to do some catch up!

Every first Friday of the month, the art galleries in Old City do a gallery hop. Mike did a great write up about it on his blog: http://www.relaxingthetravelitch.com/2013/03/gallery-hopping-in-old-town.html

We loved it! If you're going to come out to visit, they do it every first Friday - we'll definitely take you. We stopped at a Cuban restaurant for dinner - we really are spoiled by a wealth of great options here!

Next up: we went out of town about 30 minutes to Victory - a well known local brewery. They were packed! It was more pub than brewery. There were no tours, but lots of families ordering dinner and growlers of beer to go.

Mike was feeling under the weather last week, so I ventured out by myself for dinner with some of his co-workers. I drove to Center City and found street parking all by myself. With the help of GPS and some kind parking attendants, I found $4 street parking instead of $20 ramp. Yes: $20. For a weeknight evening. And we thought parking downtown Minneapolis could get spendy!

This past weekend we really enjoyed being able to enjoy the city. It was 50+ degrees and sunny, so we took a late morning train into Center City, and had brunch at a lovely French restaurant - Parc. We waited for a table on the sidewalk overlooking Rittenhouse Square, and it was so worth it! The city was busy with people walking their dogs, a farmers market, and apparently a pretty big St. Patty's Day bar crawl. Lots of green clad 21 year olds. We did a bit of shopping (H&M and Zara!) then met with one of Mike's co-workers and his wife. We enjoyed a bonfire in their backyard, and this Minnesota ranger was able to prove her fire making merit. :)

Sunday was too nice to stay inside, so we walked around Conshohocken. We haven't done much wandering in town for a couple weeks, so it was fun to get out. We found a fabulous cheesesteak place for lunch and a homemade ice cream shop within walking distance. We also heard more about the upcoming St. Patty's Day parade in town this coming weekend. We're looking forward to checking it out!
