You know you're from MN when...

Apparently we're getting snow tomorrow, but it's again in the 50s and partly cloudy today, so I'm not going to complain! :)

We were talking to the checkout lady at the grocery store yesterday and she was commenting how a friend who moved here from Wisconsin brought snowpants. She thought that was hilarious because no adults here have them. I laughed: ours are hanging in the front closet...and our winter boots are in the trunk of the car because it's January and that's where boots should be in case your car breaks down.

Isn't that normal? I guess not here!

50? In January??

I get to take my workout outside for the first time in months today! I'm sure I'll be eating my words in a few days, but I could get used to this beautiful weather!

Getting here...

We decided to fly out to Philly due to the weather threats of traveling in January. Maybe not the most smooth travel day we've had, but we made it! Mike wrote about it on his travel blog - check it out: http://www.relaxingthetravelitch.com/

We enjoyed a couple days in the city before all of our belongings made it to Conshohocken, which was very fun! However, I'm excited to see the city when it's not 20 degrees and snowing! I'm impressed with how much of the downtown area we could walk to in just a day and a half, but there's a lot to see that we didn't get to as well. It'll make for some fun upcoming weekends!

Fast forward to Saturday - MOVE IN day! In MN, we had packers work a full day of just putting our belongings in boxes. Needless to say, it's going to take longer than that to get them unpacked. Since we've never moved ALL of our stuff together at once, we were in for a treat when the boxes just kept coming and coming and coming...

We're to the point today that all the furniture is in the right spot and wireless and 1 tv are working. I consider that success! Our dining room is literally filled with empty boxes and paper used for wrapping.Yes, we have multiple boxes filled with paper, check it out:

Oh, and we now have both our cars! The Saturn arrived today (yipee!) and here's a pic of our new Ford Escape. Note the NJ plates...we're not in Minnesota anymore!

Welcome to the blog! I wanted to start this to keep friends and family up to date on the new adventure Mike and I are embarking on...moving to Philadelphia!

This is going to be pretty informal - quick status updates and pictures of what we're up to. I want to have a place to keep everyone equally informed, and I hope this is the forum for it. Feel free to share and comment - and write back so I know what you're up to too!
